Abstract
A study has been made of the effect of cyclic heat treatment on the density of cadmium having a bismuth admixture. The effects of the heating rate, cooling rate, and time the cadmium is held at the maximum temperature were studied. It is concluded that thermal-structural stresses and admixture enrichment of grain boundaries play an important role in the density changes.
