Conclusions

  1. 1.

    Thermomechanical treatment is the most feasible method for manufacturing parts of alloy EI437B and its substitutes (EI787, EI696), which must operate at temperatures of 550–650°. The process combines hot stamping with air cooling. After TMT, these parts have a fully or partially recrystallized structure.

     
  2. 2.

    The application of TMT to parts operating at 550–650° provides improved strength and heat resistivity and retains high ductility properties, at the same time decreasing the sensitivity to cutting and the tendency to high temperature embrittlement.
