Summary

Cross-linked polycarbosilanes are obtained from the reaction of Cl2MeSiCHCl2 and Mg in tetrahydrofuran, followed by reduction with LiAlH4. Analysis by NMR spectroscopy shows that most polycarbosilane is of the formula [MeSiCH]n.
