Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

In austenitic corrosion-resistant steels, nitrogen, like carbon, suppresses segregation of the σ-phase during long-term aging.

  2. 2.

In type 0Kh17N14M3G2 steels with a nitrogen content to 0.2% and a low carbon content, phase formation is controlled by the diffusion of chromium during long-term aging.
