Summary
The kinetics of the 1:1-complex formation of Al(IIII) with ferron in aqueous Al(III) solutions, “prebuffered” with chloroacetate at excess of Al(III) was studied. The results lead to the specification of a reaction scheme including the species AlOH2+, Al(OH) +2 , Al2OH5+ or Al2(OH) 4+2 , AlClac 2+ and HL − (H2 L is ferron) and indicate the influence of chloroacetate on the species distribution in prebuffered Al(III) solutions. The water exchange rate constants (according to the conventional Eigen-Tamm-mechanism) were evaluated:
