Summary

3-[2-(5,7,9-Trimethoxy-2,2-dimethyl-2H-pyrano[2,3-b]quinolin-4-yl)-3-hydroxy-3-methyl]-butyl-4,6,8-trimethoxy-1H-quinolin-2-one (1), a dimeric quinoline derivative was obtained by subjecting 4,6,8-trimethoxy-(E)-3-(3-methylbut-1-en-3-olyl)-2(1H)-quinolinone (2) to acid conditions via the instable diene 4,6,8-trimethoxy-(E)-3-(3-methylbut-1,3-dienyl)-2(1H)-quinolinone (3).
