Summary

Treatment of quinoline Reissert compounds withm-chloroperoxybenzoic acid gave epoxides which are remarkably stable in crystalline state, but reactive in solution versus nucleophiles. They represent useful intermediates to regioselectively functionalized quinolines.

Zusammenfassung

Chinolin-Reissert-Verbindungen lassen sich mitm-Chlorperbenzoesäure zu Epoxiden oxidieren, die als kristalline Substanzen bemerkenswert stabil sind, in Lösung aber mit Nucleophilen bereitwillig reagieren. Sie stellen nützliche Zwischenprodukte zu regioselektiv funktionalisierten Chinolin-Derivaten dar.
