Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

It is shown that the oxygen content of titanium hydride powder can be rapidly determined by the pulse-heating method.

  2. 2.

The method can be successfully used in investigations into the effect of particle size upon the oxygen content of titanium hydride powder.

  3. 3.

The results are presented of an investigation into the behavior of the gas-forming impurities at the main stages of the manufacture of titanium powder by the hydrogenation-dehydrogenation process.

  4. 4.

Measures are recommended for reducing the oxygen content of titanium powders produced by the hydrogenation-dehydrogenation process.
