Conclusions

  1. 1.

It is shown that fine iron powders can be produced from concentrated solutions under the conditions of a two-layer electrolytic bath.

  2. 2.

It has been established that, by using concentrated electrolytes, it is possible substantially to increase iron current efficiency, reduce energy consumption in the preparation of fine iron powder, and obtain powder free from harmful inclusions.

  3. 3.

A study was made of the effects of various electrolysis parameters on the formation of fine iron powder. The optimum electrodeposition conditions, enabling fine iron powder to be obtained at high current efficiency, were determined.
