Conclusions

It was established that the premolding pressure in electric-discharge sintering has a significant influence on formation of the properties of the material from a copper-tin-abrasive composite.

It was experimentally shown that with an increase in premolding pressure from 3.3 to 100 MPa the through temperature drops by 1.5 times and the bend strength, impact strength, and hardness drop by 2.2, 1.6, and 2.7 times, respectively.

The intensification of alloy formation, compacting, and increase in the level of mechanical properties with a reduction in premolding pressure is the result of the influence of discharge processes at the interparticle contacts and the higher through temperature reached.
