Conclusions
The chemical stability of molybdenum germanide was studied in acids of various concentrations, alkali solutions, organic solvents, and mixtures of acids with oxidizers and complexing agents.
It is shown that molybdenum digermanide completely decomposes in solvents exhibiting oxidizing properties. The compound partially decomposes in concentrated sulfuric acid. Dilute sulfuric, hydrochloric, and organic acids, and also organic solvents and water have virtually no effect on the germanide. MoGe2 resists the action of caustic soda solutions of various concentrations.
It has been established that MoGe2 is almost equally resistant to the action of oxygen and air. It has been shown that molybdenum digermanide is less stable than molybdenum disilicide.
