Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

Thermomechanical treatment promoting solution of coarse carbides and refinement of the original austenitic grains makes it possible to increase the service properties of 07Kh16N6 steel.

  2. 2.

To obtain high strength and fracture resistance the following treatment is recommended for 07Kh16N6 steel: harden from 1100°C; isothermally forge at 850 and 800°C; cold treat at a temperature below −70°C; temper at 425°C.
