1.
Suitable conditions have been established for the preparation of materials of the system AlN-Al2O3-Mo. It is shown that the best results are obtained when sintering is performed for 1 h in a nitrogen atmosphere at 1950°C, using calcined alumina packing material. The resultant specimen porosity is 6–12%.

2.
A study was made of the microstructure, microhardness, and hardness of the composite material obtained. It is demonstrated that, with rise in aluminum nitride content, the hardness and microhardness fall.
