N-acylation of amino acids with glyceric acid

Abstract

Several amino acid esters were N-acylated by isopropylidene-D-glyceric acid chloride. The various blocking groups were selectively removed to yieldN-D-glyceroyl-amino acids which are able to intra- or intermolecular condensation.
