Abstract
The results of a study of the absorptive function of an allogenic graft of the small intestine, using D-xylose loading and electron-microscopic investigation of neutral fat transport in the intestinal wall, are described. An unusual increase in the absorption of D-xylose was shown to take place in association with structural changes in the wall of the intestine and disturbance of fat transport.
