Conclusions
-
1.
A study was made of the character of solution pH variation during the codeposition of a mixture of copper and aluminum salts with sodium bicarbonate at room temperature.
-
2.
It was established that the most uniform distribution of alumina is observed in specimens produced by adding small amounts of the precipitating agent to the salt mixture, followed by thorough mixing of the resultant powders.
-
3.
The character of alumina distribution in such specimens does not markedly change (compared with the distribution in the salts) after the reduction and sintering of the powders.
-
4.
The particle size of the strengthening phase in the sintered specimens investigated did not exceed 100 Å.
