Conclusions
-
1.
Bearings made of porous 80% nickel-20% chromium base alloy fiber materials impregnated with low-melting-point metallic lubricants of low vapor pressure hold considerable promise for friction units operating in a vacuum under high loads and at high friction zone temperatures.

2.
Low-melting-point metallic alloys based on gallium, indium, and tin, which melt at elevated friction zone temperatures (high loads and high sliding speeds) and form a liquid-metal lubricant film, can be successfully used as impregnating lubricants for such fiber materials.
