Conclusions
-
1.
A study was made, using three independent methods, of the mean normal contact stresses set up in rolling. The results of measurements are evaluated.
-
2.
The variation of the mean normal contact stress is examined as a function of the shape of the region of deformation and the coefficient of densification. It is shown that, with increase in the coefficient of densification and the ratiol r/hm, the mean normal contact stress grows.
