Abstract
The dynamics of one-dimensional dispersion of a dense layer of particles in a gaseous space under the impulsive action of a compressed gas is simulated within the framework of a two-rate, two-temperature, two-stress model of a porous powdered medium. Successive phases of the wave motion of the gaseous and dispersed phases are considered in detail. The formation of the zones of nonmonotone distribution of dispersed phase parameters in the stage of interaction of oncoming rarefaction waves in a compressed layer of particles is described. Integral dependences of the range and extent of the powder dispersion zone on the initial gas pressure differential and on particle sizes are presented.
