Summary
The aim of this contribution is to propose a 2D model for an elastic stratified subsoil layer, which takes into account the effect of inhomogeneity on the dynamic behaviour of a medium. The obtained equations describe the subsoil response to the time-dependent foundation soil loadings, and can be applied to the analysis of dynamic subsoil-structure interactions. It is shown under which conditions the effect of microproperties of a medium on its dynamic response cannot be neglected.
