Shockwave attenuation in gas suspensions

  • Published:
Combustion, Explosion and Shock Waves Aims and scope

Conclusions

An approximate solution permitting computation of attenuation of a shock of initially a step profile to equilibrium intensity during propagation in a gas suspension is obtained in this paper. Since a shock generated by explosions of HE charges, gas and dust clouds, are characterized, as a rule, by a pressure drop behind the front, then the proposed solution permits making conservative estimates about their destructive action.
