Investigation of the electrolytic preparation of nickel powder

  • Published:
Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

As a result of an experimental investigation of the sulfate-chloride electrolyte, it was shown that the latter's stability may be improved and the current yield of powder nickel may be raised to 90–94%.

  2. 2.

Optimum electrolysis conditions have been formulated securing high current yields of nickel powder of medium dispersion.

  3. 3.

By using the sulfate-chloride electrolyte in conjunction with the electrolysis conditions recommended, it is possible to reduce sharply the power requirements of electrolytic nickel powder production and its cost.
