Summary
The electron-microscopic and microchemical study of the ultrathin sections ofB. coli has established the presence of discrete nuclear formation in the form of elongated oval bands. The nuclear formations being independent elements are not related to cytoplasmic granules (“polar caps”) and do not change their morphology in the presence of the latter.
