Summary
It has been established experimentally that glutamic acid depresses the contractile activity of frog rectus abdominis muscle under the influence of neostigmine methylsulfate, and reduces the percentage of white mice suffering convulsions or death after neostigmine methylsulfate poisoning. The author suggests that these effects of glutamic acid may be explained by its action upon the synthesis or binding of acetycholine.
