Conclusion

The experimental steel 35Kh3GSFB is better than the series produced steel as regards resistance to fatigue fracture, wear resistance, and bulk hardenability; it can therefore be recommended for industrial production and as material for shafts of turbodrills. Steel 35Kh3GSFB is somewhat inferior to the series produced steel as regards resistance to brittle fracture, and it is more prone to temper brittleness but that is not of decisive importance for the operating conditions of shafts of turbodrills.
