Effect of tin on the structure and properties of high-strength cast iron after induction hardening

Conclusion

Addition of tin makes it possible to improve the structure and properties of cast iron subjected to induction hardening, it promotes more uniform distribution of silicon and carbon in the cast iron matrix, it increases the stability of austenite during hardening, and also provides uniform structure and properties for the hardened case.
