A method of studying specific friction forces and pressures in the rolling of metal powders

  • Published:
Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics Aims and scope

Summary

A description is given of an original, three-pin apparatus for the measurement of specific friction forces and radial pressure on the contact arc during the rolling of metal powders. Procedures for constructing calibration diagrams, calculating the friction in the dynamometers, and evaluating the resultant oscillograms are described. An example of the evaluation of an oscillogram obtained during the rolling of iron powder is given.
