Cortisol-induced stimulation of nuclear matrix protein phosphorylation

  • Published:
Molecular Biology Reports Aims and scope Submit manuscript

The rat liver nuclear matrix specifically binds steroids and responds to hormone binding by phosphorylation modification of protein constituents. This process is suggested to be part of nuclear nonhistone protein modification underlying modulation of chromatin structure and selective gene expression.
