Conclusions

The TMV-50-5 thermomassometric device permits estimating with high precision the heat resistance (according to the change of mass) of investigated materials in the 150–1250°C temperature range in accordance with a given program without removing the specimen from the reaction chamber and to conduct investigations in controlled atmospheres under static pressure up to 100 mm H2O.

The change of the investigated mass is continuously recorded at the control panel by a recording potentiometer and automatic light panel. The design of the balance and heating chamber and the use of a gas valve made it possible to reduce appreciably the effect of aerostatic forces and vibrations of the specimen.

The thermomassometric device TMV-505 satisfactorily underwent plant acceptance tests (Table 1) and is presently being used successfully at the Kiev Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers.
