Summary
-
1.
It follows from the results presented that beginning with a porosity of 20%, the relative intensity of the spectral lines of the elements contained in cermet materials depends linearly on porosity.
-
2.
In making a spectral analysis of cermet materials having a porosity of up to 20%, cast standards may be used. However, the use of cast standards in the spectral determination of elements in cermet materials having a porosity of more than 20% leads to low results.
-
3.
The investigations show that a porosity of less than 20% practically introduces no error in the determination of the elements in cermet materials. In carrying out the spectral analysis of cast alloys, therefore, it is possible to use standards prepared by the powder metallurgy method.
