Summary
The connection is established between the compaction characteristics and other properties of material being compacted. The influence of temperature on the maximum reduced work of densification, which is equivalent to the influence of temperature on the maximum energy content, has been determined. It is shown that, compared with the melting process, preparation of dense material by powder metallurgical methods secures a saving in energy. Characteristics of dynamic hot pressing and its advantages over static pressing have been established.
