Summary
-
1.
A study was made of the effect of concentration and temperature on the density of molten nickelchromium alloys. It was shown that, both in the solid and liquid states, the specific volumes of alloys of the system nickel-chromium are additive values.
-
2.
A study was made of the effect of temperature on the free surface energy of molten nickel-chromium alloys.
-
3.
It was found that chromium lowers σ of liquid nickel. The σ isotherm at 1600°C has a minimum, which is due to the presence in the melt of reaction products of the melt and the aluminum oxide in contact with the melt.
