Conclusions
-
1.
Cermet flame arresters efficiently restrict the flame of burning gas mixtures; they can find extensive application in the petroleum chemical and other branches of industry.
-
2.
The efficiency of flame arresters strongly depends on the pore diameter: The smaller the pore diameter, the higher the MSP value.
-
3.
Within the range investigated (5–20 mm), the thickness of flame arresters does not influence the MSP value.
-
4.
Porous bronze is much more suitable for flame arresting purposes than porous iron or stainless steel.
