Conclusions

  1. 1.

In the investigation described, a study was made of some laws governing the die extrusion of VK6 hard-alloy powder mixed with paraffin wax as plasticizer.

  2. 2.

The plastic properties of mixtures with different plasticizer contents were determined. On the basis of the results obtained, it was possible to select suitable temperatures and plasticizer contents of the mixture.

  3. 3.

It was established that parts of satisfactory quality, meeting GOST standard requirements, are obtained by extruding a mixture containing 6 wt.% paraffin wax and preheated to 35–45°C. Depending on the degree of reduction and temperature, the extrusion pressure under these conditions should be 300–500 kg/cm2. The degree of reduction of the mixture should be 95–98%, while the discharge velocity should not exceed 150 mm/min.
