New principles of porous body statistics. Communication II

  • Published:
Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The structural elements of porous fibrous and powder bodies are different; therefore, powder bodies are usually characterized by a mobile-rigid bond and fibrous bodies by a flexible-rigid bond.

  2. 2.

For fibrous, highly porous bodies there is a special mechanism of sintering: an appreciable increase of the critical cross section due to bending of long sections of fiber between adjacent contacts.

  3. 3.

Formulas of the statistical dependence of the limiting values of certain mechanical properties of fibrous and powder bodies on density are derived with consideration of physicotechnical factors.

  4. 4.

    Explanations for the caseα → ϑ, σt/σtc → ϑ are given.
