Abstract
The article describes a method of determining the relative energy dissipation of damping coatings under conditions dose to the state of uniform strain, under steady-state resonance vibrations of a beam with equal dynamic bending resistance excited by plane-parallel displacements of the constrained end. The theoretical relations were obtained by the energy approach from the results of tests with specimens with and without coating. An experimental verification of the suggested method, carried out on specimens of the glue composition “Sprut-MF” and on a two-layer beam consisting of a steel base and a coating of this polymer, shoed good agreement between the calculated and the experimental values of the characteristics of the damping ability of the material of the coating.
