Abstract
Na-Y zeolites exchanged with samarium (III) were modified with various loadings of fluorine using NH4F. These zeolites were found to be effective catalysts for the selective dehydration of methylbutyraldehyde to isoprene. These results are compared with other acid zeolite catalysts.
