Electropneumatic sound generator for investigating fatigue strength of structures under the effect of random acoustic loads

Abstract

The electropneumatic sound generator is widely used in acoustic tests. Results of experimental studies of the characteristics of a generator with 12 kW rated acoustic output and 100–850 Hz nominal range of oscillation frequencies are examined. It is established that, in the rated range of frequencies, the generator facilitates formation of any set spectrum of random noise with the rated acoustic output, while, in the 50–1450 Hz range, it does this with a minimum level of acoustic output up to 15 dB lower than the rated value.
