Abstract

The article presents the tests of crack growth rates in low cycle fatigue tests with interruptions, carried out with specimens of steel 45 with a central notch. It is shown that with holding at the maximum, at the minimum of the load, and with zero load, endurance is substantially reduced after the same crack length has been attained. Longer recovery time leads to a more substantial decrease of endurance.
