Abstract

The results of investigation of the stress-strain state of an elastic layer idealized by an acrylic plate under a distributed surface load are presented. Computer-aided calculations using analytical expressions in the form of improper integrals indicated good convergence with experimental results. It is established that local tensile stresses that develop in the edge zone of the loading site may attain significant magnitudes (30% of the specific pressure).
