Structure insensitivity and its dependency on surface coverage — Interplay between kinetics and thermodynamics

Abstract

Surface catalytic reactions with nonuniformly reactive adsorbates may exhibit structure insensitive behavior regardless of the extent of surface coverage when there occurs an interplay between kinetics and thermodynamics. Some example cases are discussed.
