Calculation of the stresses in a nonsymmetrically vibrating stepped sample

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    A formula suited for calculating the stress distribution, is proposed and an equation has been derived for finding the coordinates of the displacement of the vibration node in an unsymmetrically vibrating stepped halfwave sample.

     
  2. 2.

    The calculated length of the tested part, corrected for the existence of a variation in the radii at the transition from the tested to the thickened part, should be used in determining the stresses in a stepped sample
