  • Published:
Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The results of experiments on the preparative isolation of alkaloids from splendid meadow saffron corms of different collections are presented.

  2. 2.

The content of colchamine and colchicine in the meadow saffron corms with shining scales is rather high and relatively stable from year to year during blooming.

  3. 3.

It was confirmed that meadow saffron corms differing in appearance of the covering scales also differ in their alkaloid content.

  4. 4.

It was shown that the green aboveground portions should not be used for the isolation of colchamine.
