Summary
-
1.
Equations for calculating the temperatures at which it is safe to use charges of system No. 2 have been obtained under specified experimental conditions, together with formulas for calculating the induction periods of charges of system No. 2 at any temperatures.
-
2.
Preliminary experiments have shown that the explosive system investigated has a “memory effect.”
-
3.
It has been found that with increase in the time spent by the charges in the well their explosive energy decreases together with their detonation velocity, whereas their impact sensitivity increases.
-
4.
The data obtained may prove useful for determining the conditions of utilization of explosives at elevated temperatures under field conditions.
