Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds Aims and scope

Abstract

The synthesis of 2-methyl (phenyl)-2, 3H-pyridazino-[4, 5, 6-m- l] fluorene-3-methylthionium methylsulfates and of derivatives with substituents in the fluorene ring, is described. Reaction of the latter with heterocyclic hydrazones, and also with compounds containing an active methylene or methyl group, gives cyanine dyes. The electronic spectra of the dyes are measured.
