Conclusions

With the aid of photography we have determined the phase contact surface in a model bubble reactor as a function of gas velocity. Simultaneously we have carried out measurements of the rate of mass-transfer in the process of sodium sulfite oxidation in aqueous solution.

The true mass-transfer coefficients, calculated from experimental data, coincide satisfactorily with those calculated from the theoretical dependence.
