Synthesis of the trisaccharide, 2-(p-trifluoroacetamidophenyl)ethylO-α-d-galactopyranosyl-(1-4)-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1-4)-2-acetamido-2-deoxy-β-d-glucopyranoside, corresponding to the blood group P1 determinant

Abstract

The 2-(p-trifluoroacetamidophenyl)ethyl β-glycoside of the P1 antigen trisaccharide,O-α-d-galactopyranosyl-(1-4)-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1-4)-2-acetamido-2-deoxy-d-glucopyranose, was synthesized. Thioglycoside intermediates were used as building blocks.
