Catalytic isomerization of the overhead fractions of straight run gasoline

Summary

  1. 1.

    The isomerization of the pentane and hexane fractions of gasoline on a platinum catalyst was studied, as a result of which the operating conditions of the process were chosen, the yield of the reaction products established, and data obtained on the composition and detonation stability of the isomerization products.

     
  2. 2.

    It was shown that during use of the range of −62°C fraction of straight run gasoline as the isomerization feedstock its octane number can be raised from 73 to 85.

     
  3. 3.

    During the joint processing of the range of −62°C fraction of straight run gasoline and a hexane raffinate (separated from catalytic reforming products) an isocomponent with an octane number of 80 can be obtained.
