Marginal behavior of a Fermi system interacting with bosonic excitations

Abstract

We calculated the self-energy of a Fermi system interacting with bosonic excitation. If the bosonic system is near instability, the imaginary part of the self-energy which measures the lifetime of quasiparticles is of the order of (ɛ(p)-ɛ F ) which is typical for a marginal Fermi liquid. Such a behavior can appear for three- and two-dimensional Fermi systems.
