Conclusions
-
1.
It was shown that the presence of 1,3-butadiene in amounts of from 0.05 to 0.7% in the butane-butylene fraction results in a decrease in the molecular weight of the polyisobutylene by 2000–7000.
-
2.
The results that were obtained were verified from the polymerization of an artificial mixture of iso-C4H8+iso-C4H10 with the addition of the same amounts of 1,3-butadiene.
-
3.
A method was developed for determining small amounts of 1,3-butadiene in C4 hydrocarbon mixtures.
